Council of State Speech-Language-Hearing Association Presidents

President’s Message

It has been an absolute honor and pleasure serving as your CSAP President during the past two years. I am writing this with an intense mixture of pride, gratitude and jubilation. Thank you for the opportunity to be at the helm of this lively, enthusiastic and dedicated association. I have continually been amazed by the vigor, collective wisdom, creative thinking and spirit of the membership through the uncertainly and challenges our state associations have endured. Remember, you are never alone in your leadership role as a member of CSAP.

As I reflect on the numerous accomplishments of CSAP, I feel proud of the collective effort. We have remained connected through five free innovative roundtables with continuing education credit, two engaging virtual conferences, two productive virtual business meetings and finally a safe in-person conference boasting a huge attendance. Additionally, I am pleased to note that CSAP has maintained financial stability and will offer a conference scholarship in 2022. Also noteworthy, the 2020 CSAP Board worked diligently to develop a rigorous four-year strategic plan aligned with our vision and mission to ensure a successful future. Lastly, the membership supported and passed a substantial update to the By-Laws.

I cannot thank the 2020 and 2021 CSAP Board, commissioners, committee chairs, state association members and Craven Management Associates enough for their immense work in handling the challenges and contributing to the continued success of CSAP. Each state association derives strength and support from their leadership. YOU are all rockstar leaders… my hope is that you generated more strength through your role as a member of CSAP.

I feel relief and unwavering confidence for CSAP’s future as I pass the torch to our creative and talented incoming CSAP President, Lyndsey Zurawski.

I have cherished the opportunity to work and connect with all of you.

“Once a CSAPer, Always a CSAPer!”
